The University Writing Center offers free writing assistance to all undergraduate students currently enrolled at the university. At the Writing Center, upperclassmen work with writers of all classifications and majors on a variety of writing assignments from cover letters to term papers.
“The purpose of the Writing Center is not merely to help students get a better grade on a single paper but rather to assist them in becoming better writers in general,” said Robert Gore, a senior Public Policy and Chinese major who works as a consultant at the University Writing Center. "I love working with students, and honestly couldn't think of a better place to work."
"I believe the Writing Center is one of the most vital services offered to students at this university," Robertson stated about the importance of the Writing Center to Ole Miss. "Writing is essential to success in college-- and in life-- and the Writing Center is here to help all Ole Miss students achieve success in both these areas."
Last semester, consultants at the Writing Center read over 2,000 papers and expects to exceed this number this semester. Students who visit the Writing Center consistently praise the work consultants do, and many professors have started giving extra credit to students who take their papers in for appointments at the Writing Center.
