Vandalism Continues at Brown As School
Winds Down
In recent weeks,
vandalism at Brown Hall has been a problem increasing questions, as the year is
coming to a close. Many Brown resident
assistants have been up in arms about large and small acts of vandalism causing
damage to the various floors in the building.
Despite the new emphasis placed on cracking down on vandals, new reports
have surfaced of trash in hallways and broken ceiling tiles in the basement
bathroom.
A few weeks back,
Ontario Fitts, a Brown Hall RA was able to shed light on the issues he has seen
on his duty. When asked about the
appropriate punishment for floor violations he stated, “I will personally knock
on my residents doors early in the morning and ask them to clean messes
throughout the floor.”
With
the academic year coming to a close, and many residents leaving the hall in the
near future, Fitts wants to encourage students in the residence hall to take
care of any wear and tear done to their dorms before leaving.
The University of Mississippi has a section of its
website dedicated to dealing with issues, questions, and comments revolving
around residential life on campus. In the
“contact us” tab, there is an e-mail
address that can be used to make request for repairs.
