The Lyric: Perfect Stress Reliever

As the year goes on students become stressed from all the studying that comes with school, yet many students have found the perfect stress reliever; concerts.
The Lyric, just off the courthouse square, is Oxford's largest music venue. It has drawn hundreds of music fans and many big name bands. It has held bands and musicians such as MGMT, Pretty Lights, Willie Nelson, and even Snoop Dogg
Tim Baxter, a worker and concert attendee, helps to make the best of each show. “With Oxford being a smaller town compared to many cities, its nice to have such a wonderful venue for students to be able to come to get away from all the stress at school.”
The Lyric usually hosts about one show a week and each concert is packed. However, with Electronic music on the rise across America there has been more demand and attendance with this genre.
“We have had a lot of success with our electronic based concerts this year, says Baxter, Last semester’s Pretty Lights Concert sold out for two nights. We have had more and more requests for the electronic genre.”
