This was AOII’s first annual Hotty Toddy Run For The Roses event here on campus. It consisted of a 5K run, 5K walk and mile run all throughout the Ole Miss campus and partly off campus. This fundraiser aided Athritis that is AOII’s national philanthropy, as well as the Candy Carlisle Derivaux Memorial Scholarship. Candy was an Ole Miss AOII alum and has just recently died. The money raised from this race will benefit her memorial that will create a scholarship for Ole Miss AOIIs. It cost $25 for each runner to register through raceit.com a major race organizer in the Mississippi area. Raceit organized the route for the race, measured out the precise length of the race and even drew in some non-AOII racers. For anymore information on how to participate next year please call Avery Pierron, Nu Beta Chapter Alpha Omicron Pi President at aepierro@olemiss.edu or contact Raceit.com.
