Friday night’s free concert in the Grove featuring Gavin DeGraw
was met with some technical difficulties due to the poor weather. The rain
started earlier that evening causing the Ole Miss baseball game against
Arkansas to be postponed.
The rain however did not stop the concert. There was
a surprisingly large turnout at the 8:30 concert which included students,
faculty and others from the surrounding area. Craig Morgan, a country singer,
opened for DeGraw and played through the rain. The weather began to worsen as
DeGraw started his set and about 5 songs in the power shut off.
Student Patrick
Reed felt like the concert would be canceled early. “I really thought they were
going to stop the concert after only 5 songs” Reed said. Technical maintenance
men worked on the power supply until the got the power working again and the
concert continued.
