Ole Miss Student
Fashion Designer
Most students at Ole Miss acquire
an education from a classroom. For
Taylor Semelsburger, education was acquired through hands on experience in the
fashion industry. Taylor is a current
student at the University of Mississippi who took a semester off to pursue a
fashion internship in Atlanta, Georgia.
She has been developing her own line, Isabel & Thomas Co.
Taylor’s fashion line began last
summer when she began creating head bands and bows. She currently works as an understudy for
McCall Whider, a designer in Atlanta. Whilder helped Taylor develop a line of
dresses and frocks that will come out next spring.
When asked about her success, Taylor simply responded, “It’s
what I’ve always loved to do and I’m really happy. I love Ole Miss and I love fashion, so I hope
to carry my line in Oxford one day.”
This weekend, Taylor came in town to show boutiques on the
square her accessories and clothing items.
Rob Curtis, a supporter of Isabel & Thomas Co. noted, “Hopefully
they will be in Oxford next year. She has
a classic style that fits Oxford perfectly.
I’m really proud of it.” Taylor
hopes to continue to expand her line but keep it simple and classy.
The trunk show she held in Oxford
this weekend was a big success. Most of
the boutiques liked the items she showed and will hopefully purchase them. Oxford sororities and other local girls in
the area commented that they were excited to have a new flux of designers and
would eagerly buy from a fellow student.
In the meantime, Taylor’s items can be purchased through www.seenglobal.com.
