Gavin Degraw performed this past Friday in the Grove. Many
students were excited about his performance and even arrived hours early. His
performance was delayed however, and eventually stopped due to the heavy
rainfall.
Gavin Degraw is a popular pop-rock artist. He just recently
got voted off of Dancing with the Stars, and he currently has a top 10 song ‘Not
Over You.’ The Student Programming Board, who booked Degraw, also managed to
book Craig Morgan as the opening act.
The concert was due to start at 8pm, but was delayed due to
an outburst of scattered showers. Craig Morgan came on a couple hours late, and
once he was finished Gavin Degraw finally performed. However his performance
was soon cut short.
It begun raining lightly at first, but Degraw continued on.
Students didn’t seem to mind and pulled out umbrellas, jackets, or whatever
they could find. However the rain continued to pick up, and eventually it was a
full downpour.
The power went off, and students soon begun to scatter. Most
took shelter in the Union, as everyone attempted to dry off. Coolers,
umbrellas, chairs, and drinks were left in the Grove as everyone took off to
avoid the rain.
Although it was not picture perfect weather, Craig Morgan
and Gavin Degraw gave great performances. Students will surely remember the
concert for years to come. To learn more about Gavin Degraw and his upcoming
