Showstopping with Ole Miss Theatre
Ole Miss Theatre pays tribute to aspiring thespians through its upcoming production of “Showstoppers.” The version of “Showstoppers” that Ole Miss Theatre is performing will focus on the highlights of the life of a performance artist and their struggles.
“Showstoppers’ gives an inside perspective as to what the life and struggles of an actor is, and what they have to go through in a broadway format,” an Understudy in “Showstoppers”, Skyler Thomas. “The show is going really well, a lot better than I had actually expected. It’s actually pretty great,” she said about the show so far.
The production performances will be from Wednesday April 25th through the weekend to Sunday April 29th. Tickets can be found at the Union Box Office for more information visit http://theatre.olemiss.edu/.
There are 17 numbers in the show with monologues throughout, all derived from broadway musicals based on the lives of aspiring actors, musicians, and performers.
The two act show’s repertoire will include musicals such as, A Chorus Line, The Producers, Curtains, La Cage Aux Folles, Annie Get Your Gun, and many others.
